Vergenoeg Mine -Mill Drive Trains NCP were contracted to verify dimensions and reengineer mill girth and pinion assemblies for Vergenoeg mine for their two operating 12x16ft, 1200kW Vecor and 12x15ft, 1000kW Osborn Mill. New cast steel BS3100 1976, BT1 and BS3100 1976 A2 material girth gears were specified together with EN26U pinion shaft assemblies. The design of the pinion shaft assemblied were upgraded to enable non-integral assemblies to be supplied. This will allow cost savings in the future when ordering critical spares. The drive trains were supplied new within 40weeks from order.
