Ruashi Project 14x16ft, 1500kW ROM Mill. This supply was unique in that an existing 14x16ft SAG mill was upgraded to operate as a ROM (Run of Mine) ball mill accepting -150mm material, grinding material to -75um. Process design was verified through JKtech as traditional Bond theory was not applicable for this oversized feed process. The mill underwent FEA to ensure that the design structural integrity was sufficient for the new application. The upgraded design included redrilling the shell for the included supply of solid Chomoly liners with a grate discharge. The mill was designed to operate in 2 possible process conditions as either 1000tons/hr closed circuit with a recirculating load of 450% or in open circuit at 200tph fresh feed. The mill was supplied with a new girth gear, pinion assembly and new motor. NCP included delivery to the DRC, installation and commissioning assistance.
